Three U.S. Destinations Certified in Sustainable Tourism Management

Going on vacation, many people do not think about their environmental impact. You go away somewhere to forget your responsibilities, right? What if I told you that there are places that are eco-tourism certified? There are places you can go that have a certificate in Sustainable Tourism Management. Here are three of them.

Half Moon Bay Coastside, California

It’s no surprise that California has eco-destinations, and Half Moon Bay has plenty of options- It doesn’t matter if you love the outdoors or just don’t want to relax and eat some tasty food. This eco-fab area offers everything including horseback riding on the beach, wineries, canoeing and kayaking, historical estates, or a nice tour.

Kualoa Ranch, Hawaii

For the tour/nature lovers, you might want to consider visiting this 4000 acre private nature preserve. Offering a variety of tours from zipling tours, food tours, atv tours, and even a Hollywood tour for the film enthusiasts- Kualoa Ranch is a fun eco-destination. Interested in having an exotic wedding? This ranch also offers their preserve for wedding ceremonies. Awe-some.

Wildspring Guest Habitat, Oregon

Looking to relax and enjoy some natural beauty? Look no farther than the Wildspring Guest Habitat, filled with spas and luxury cabins, and a lovely walking labyrinth to have a stroll and contemplate things. Guest bikes are provided for those who want to hit the trails as well as guided tours. There’s also Tai Chi and yoga classes provided. Guests can indulge themselves to a tasty breakfast buffet every morning, where they cater food based on your preferences and you get to eat on a deck looking over the ocean. This place even offers massages in the privacy of your own cabin! Sign me up.

If you’re interested to check out other eco-destinations, I recommend using resources like our wonderful blog, SustainableVisit, as well as the International Ecotourism Society. Happy travels!
